Abstract :
The effect of radial power extraction via a waveguide is now treated more accurately. The article shows output from a simulation with a more realistic coupling to the power supply. The goals of our magnetron investigations have been firstly to examine how well the simulations are capable of reproducing published data for both cavity and rising sun magnetron designs operating at high voltage (and thereby set confidence levels in their predictions), and secondly to produce novel designs of relativistic magnetron to meet operational requirements whilst minimising hardware development costs.
