Abstract :
A new TE side-wall intercavity coupling is introduced. This method is shown to provide a significant extension in the design of side-wall arranged multi-mode cavity filters. All design principles developed for top-wall cascaded filter configurations /1..7/ can now be adapted to this class of filter. Experimental verification is provided by a 4-pole elliptic function filter realized in split block technique. The measured responses agree quite closely to theory.
