Research on UPnP-Based Media Service Discovery and Its Configuration Strategies

UPnP is a new Internet protocol by which various intelligent devices, wireless devices, personal computers and so on could access to peer-to-peer networks around the world. With the rapid development of current digital technology, UPnP technology is widely used in all types of family networking products. This paper introduces the system´s composition and mechanisms of UPnP, and proposes a process model for the media server´s architecting, configuration and discovery based on UPnP and its audio-visual architecture, upon the basis of which the analysis of its advantages is presented.
