Abstract
Cutting stubble off is very important for normal operation of corn no-tillage seeder. Rolling disc coulter is a stubble-cutting device which can cut off stubble under ground and produce a furrow for openers to pass easily. The performance of plain coulter with depth limitation ring, wave coulter and turbo coulter was studied. The influence of additional weight and forward velocity on cutting depth, furrow width and draft resistance of three kinds of disc coulter was researched by field experiments. The results indicate that cutting depth and draft resistance increase with the increment of additional weight and velocity, furrow width increases slightly with the velocity increasing but remains almost constant with the additional weight increasing. Additional weight is a principal factor to stubble-cutting depth and draft resistance. This paper presents reference for designing and using corn no-tillage seeder.
