Abstract
This paper presents an efficient electric power operation with reliability management under deregulated generation markets. In the proposed operation method, outputs of the pool generators are determined based on economic load dispatching with reliability and transmission congestion management. To apply the reliability management, the expected unserved power (EUP) associated with the outage of generators was selected as an evaluation index of supply reliability. Incremental cost related to the management of supply reliability and transmission congestion by re-dispatching of the pool generators was investigated through simulation studies by using a test system
