Abstract :
A very efficient optimization approach which is used to design microwave nonlinear circuits is proposed. In this method, the nonlinear circuit designing is treated as a constrained optimization problem. High efficiency is obtained by step linearizing the nonlinear constraint equation. A comparison example shows that this approach is about ten times faster than the conventional one. A MESFET amplifier with optimum linearity and output was developed to verify this method, and a satisficatory result was obtained. Using this time-saving approach, optimal design of nonliear microwave circuits can be accomplished on common computers without mainframe, or even on personal computers.
