Abstract :
Real-time generation of water waves and interaction between floating objects and fluid is one of the most difficulty research tasks in realistic simulation. We present a new algorithm combining height field surface and single layer-regional particle model to simulate fluid surface waves and their interactions with floating objects. We first generate basic fluid surface with the height field, then according to the location of the waves to generate particles, which are the self-adaptive and make interactions with the grids. The updating rules of different wave particles in different conditions and different boundaries are then built. Our algorithm can be used to simulate waves and their interactions in many fluid circumstances. Since the algorithm can reduce the computation amount through ignoring noninteraction field. Finally, we generate different realistic scene of waves and interactions under different circumstances these interactions are controllable, flexibly, and easy to realize.
