Abstract
An effective system integration (SI) management process plays a key role in the successful design and construction of a modern day metro system with an overwhelming system integration complexity. MTR Corporation has in the last decade adopted a proven SI management process comprising of various mechanisms used at different phases in the project lifecycle to significantly improve the realization of complex integration functions envisaged during inception of the project. The authors of this paper will provide an overview of this SI management process and discuss possible improvements to enhance its effectiveness making it an intricate part in every future MTR project.
