Abstract
Inspection in machining process is key technology for freeform surface. The present part machining quality can affect next machine strategy. This paper proposes a laser scanner-tactile probe based multisensor on machine inspection approach for freeform surface. First, point cloud of freeform surface is obtained by laser scanner and machining error is computed at every point. Second, area out of tolerance can be determined through error contour map method. Finally, the optimal sample path is extracted applying morphology skeleton algorithm. An experimental case is performed to validate the method effect.
