Abstract
This paper proposes a generic component model (GCM) to give a functional representation of large scale systems. The GCM rests on the notion of services provided by components and their organization into operating modes. To each operating mode corresponds a behavior model uses as reference to diagnose fault. Faults are detected by local diagnosers built on subsystems using a merging procedure without any global model and global diagnoser.
