Abstract :
During the last decades it was demonstrated that an effective discretization of light in waveguide arrays can in fluence the field propagation considerably, e.g., the sign of diffraction can be inverted and discrete solitons can be formed, Here we transfer this concept to the temporal domain by applying a time-periodic phase variation to optical pulses propagating in a fibre transmission line.
