The present paper constitutes an attempt to describe, in a succinct manner, the objectives, methodology and implementation of the e-oral Web application within the framework of the CODE (Computerized Oral Distance Exam) Project, carried out in the National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid, Spain. e-oral is initially a Web application designed to carry out distance oral exams in the first English language course (Lengua Inglesa I) of the new English Studies program at the UNED
