Abstract :
Providing end-to-end support for Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees is a central and critical issue in heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we address the problem of assigning delay budgets to each network node along the routing path so that the end-to-end delay requirements of the supported applications are met. In order to meet the QoS requirements of multimedia applications, different scheduling algorithms are used. Each scheduling service is characterized by a mandatory set of QoS parameters, which is tailored to best describe the guarantees required by the applications. In this paper, we propose a new method for distributing end-to-end delay in the heterogeneous networks. We show that our scheme can achieve better delay distribution. Further, we evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme using simulation analysis.
