Abstract :
This paper presents an improved decoding structure of turbo code based on parallel prediction control. The SISO module could be equivalent to a linear module established by the values of the former exterior information of the component decoder. The value of No (n+1) exterior information could be predicted by the linear module. Compared to the traditional decoding algorithm, the computation quantity and computing time of the parallel prediction control algorithm (PPCA) will be smaller. Therefore, the complexity and delay of the decoding algorithm can be reduced by the new decoding scheme presented in this paper. The simulation results show that the error-rate performance of the new decoding structure based on PPCA is only lower by 0.1 dB than the traditional turbo decoding structure, but it can reduce a decoding iterative process of the component decoder.
