Abstract
This paper focuses on a cascade brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG) designed as a typical machine for laboratorial study on wind power generation system. Because the machine has no brush and slip ring, it seems more suitable for wind generation systems, which often work in hard circumstances. In this paper, a model of this BDFG is deduced. Based on this model, some programs are designed to simulate typical running situations. The results demonstrate that the model is correct. The Analysis of these results induces some useful conclusions. The modeling and simulation found the basis of further researches on control strategy of BDFG.
