  • Abstract
In this paper a carbon nanotube(CNT) has been modelled by molecular structural mechanics approach, to be used as a resonator mass sensor. Then the effect of a single vacancy defect and its position on the sensor parameters is studied by simulation. The simulation shows that the natural frequency shift of the sensor, is decreased by the vacancy defect and as the vacancy gets nearer to the tip of the CNT, its effects reduces.
