This paper outlines a modular approach to machine design that has proven over the years to be successful in the automotive environment that typically encourage mass and bulk in its machine specifications. Basic modular components designed with precision and size to suit the application have been installed and operating for over 15 years with minimal maintenance and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) exceeding 90%
