Abstract :
A new calibration process for eliminating the influence of the image sideband in homodyne vector measurement systems is introduced. No special calibration devices such as reference lines or phaseshifters are necessary. First the calibration process for a measurement system using a computer controlled quadrature SSB-modulator is discussed theoretically. Then measurement data are presented using an imperfect SSB-modulator and the improvements by the application of the new calibration process are demonstrated.
