Abstract
Describes algorithms and codes of the CAD system TOPAZ that have been extensively used in the practical design of a variety of instruments and devices. The modern engineering design of physical electronics devices is not possible without the use of powerful mathematical methods and CAD software. The TOPAZ system is a combination of mathematical software, system and application programs meant for the functional design of a variety instruments and devices for electronics and RF-electrodynamics. The software includes a variety of original methods and algorithms for calculating 2D and 3D physical fields of various types, and methods and algorithms for simulation of the electron optical problems of high current beams, precision optics of imaging electron optical systems, electrodynamics etc. The codes can be used to solve the design problems, such as, analysis, optimisation and synthesis
