Abstract :
This paper shares the authors experience in designing and implementing an intelligent tutoring system. Furthermore it outlines recommendations for educators and developers who are committed to advancing Web based learning software. Building on-line learning software requires many skills including interface design, software engineering and development, use of Web design technology, ability to acquire new skills rapidly, knowledge of pedagogy, and educational experience especially in the area of distance education. This paper proposes a methodology encompassing reflecting the requirements, technology and design guidelines required to build scalable on-line learning applications.
