Abstract :
In this contribution, we present direct measurements of the interaction of THz radiation with the meta-atoms of a THz metamaterial. THz radiation is generated by optical rectification in a non-linear optical crystal in close proximity to the meta-atoms to favor the near-field interaction between generated electromagnetic wave and resonators. Coupled broadband radiation excites different modes of the meta-atoms depending on the position and polarization of the THz source relative to the meta-atom.
