Abstract
The complex images for the Green´s function of a multilayer medium are nonunique. The nonuniqueness points to the possibility of using images that do not have complex locations and hence not requiring the Prony´s method. These image locations can be real and chosen to be the first few, say 4, of the static images, even for high dielectric constant layers. The fixed image locations leads to slow variations of image amplitudes over frequency up to electrical length /spl les/1. Such slow variations in the few images required brings above rapid convergence in the analysis of many wide band (e.g. digital) applications.
