Abstract
Cavity resonators have high Q-values, their manufacturing costs are low and they have small dimensions at mm-wave frequencies. A critical point for their application is the coupling to a microstrip circuit. An aperture in the back-plane of a microstrip line, in combination with a small patch provides a simple, easy to handle coupling method.
