  • Abstract
This paper describes how to synthesis black-ink painting. We propose a brush model. It use some attributes to capture the essential features of the brush, and a suitably powerful modeling for its behavior. In order to produce the interactive controllable and structured black-ink painting effects with simple input instrument, we initialize a data structure of brush to simulate different brushworks. We use this data structures to parameterize the brush model and its behavior. This parameterized model allows a compact representation for brush-written characters which can be used to synthesize characters at different levels of detail, with various brush effects. The result is applicable for very high-quality publishing purpose. In order to simulate the real and particular effect of Chinese black-ink painting, we propose a new water-ink diffusion algorithm. All methods above simulate the dynamic change of brush effectively during art creation process, and can get realistic effect on black-ink painting.
