Abstract :
The charged spray experiment of a new two-fluid nozzle is carried out with air and water acting as working fluid. It is found that gas pressure and liquid pressure are not sensitive to the change of gas flow and liquid flow. When gas flow gets lower, liquid flow increases, however, gas pressure and liquid pressure are unchanged. The experiment indicates that droplet diameter will be smaller by reducing liquid flow. The droplet diameter is smallest in the center of test plane and gets bigger in radial dimension. The results also shows charged droplets diameter gets smaller and more uniform in charged spray because many big droplets break up. Electrostatic field has no evident impact on droplet velocity distribution.
