Abstract
Although images of objects of interest are easy to acquire, the 3D geometric information about the object that they contain remains inaccessible until the camera viewpoints can be determined. This being achieved, many forms of data measurement and utilisation become possible. The processing described concerns the rapid construction of a simple 3D CAD model, its surface “colouring” from the images, and subsequent use in video animation. This processing is being embodied in a graphical workstation tool
