  • Abstract
This paper presents an improved inverted decoupling control strategy using dead-time compensator (DTC) for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) processes when a first order plus dead-time (FOPDT) model of the process is considered. By implementing analytic operation and a definite search algorithm, an effective DTC matrix can be attained. Then the conventional inverted decoupling can be applied to the compensated processes, and implementation of IMC-based PID decentralized controllers can achieve the better set-point and disturbance responses. Simulation results show the effectiveness and simplicity of the proposed control scheme.
