Abstract
Love wave devices based on ST-quartz piezoelectric structure and ZnO guiding layer coated with a specific polyaniline/In2O3 are used to detect CO gas. This allows to study the sensing theory of the polyaniline/In2O3 coating towards CO gas, and to demonstrate the high sensitivity of love wave devices for gas detection. We also present a theoretical model which describes wave propagation in love mode devices. Then, we discuss experimental results, in terms of the high sensitivity of CO gas, a fast response and recovery with good repeatability in a stable baseline condition at room temperature.
