Abstract :
We completed a three insulation-layered winding wire for a switching transformer, which is fabricated by extrusion and equipped with a withstand voltage even greater than those of conventional enameled wires. Also, its insulation layer is of half the thickness which conventional extrusion techniques build up. This wire product can meet the requirements for “reinforced insulation” under current safety standards, and does not require interlayer insulation tape or a barrier which are indispensible in conventional transformers. As a consequence, switching transformers can be drastically miniaturised and improved in efficiency. Meanwhile, its insulation layer, without being stripped, accepts soldering which produces almost the same work efficiency as soldering workability of enameled wires used for similar transformers. This paper deals with soldering workability and best fit soldering equipment
