Abstract
The teaching of digital systems design has been traditionally by lectures, laboratory design exercises and projects. The introduction of interactive computer software presents an opportunity to present the student with new incentives for learning digital electronics by enabling them to relate design requirements to pertinent underlying theory. The paper presents the results of ongoing work on the production of computer based learning material (courseware) to address the area of top down digital design
