Abstract :
The paper describes some aspects of information and its cognate uncertainty, from the point of view of intelligent systems. The discussion is centred around the statistical uncertainty and the cognitive uncertainty, an important class of uncertainty that arises from the human thinking and cognition process. Also, ways are discussed in which these two uncertainties can help in the design of new classes of sensors and intelligent systems
