Abstract :
The three-dimensional visualization of medical images, as a powerful assistant method, can make up the insufficiency of the imaging equipments, and provide the real three-dimensional medical images for users. It is advantageous for doctors on the observation and the analysis from multiple views. Medical image visualization will play an important role in many ways such as clinic diagnosis, surgery operation, leading treatment and so on. In this paper, visualization toolkit is used to implement a 3D medical image visualization system. Two types of rendering method, surface rendering and volume rendering, are studied to reconstruct the 3D medical image, and extension functions, such as cutting, measuring operations also can be done in this system.
