Abstract
A Ka-band microstrip quasi-Yagi antenna element based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology is designed in this paper. This antenna is integrated in three layers LTCC medium. In order to avoid reducing the antenna radiation efficiency, the antenna adopts a special Barron structure to feed the main radiation element on its two arms. The ground plane on the back of the LTCC medium acts as the reflector of antenna. The simulation result is that reflection loss is less than -25 dB within the entire bandwidth and the gain on the center frequency is 5.6 dB. The lobe half power width is more than ± 50°.
