Abstract :
Analysis details and specific aspects of electromagnetic wave propagation on multistrip interconnects in layered dielectric media are reviewed in the context of CAD. In particular the differences of hybrid-mode versus quasi-static (TEM) solution of the respective eigenvalue problem are discussed. A new multistrip hybrid mode identification and location technique is described. The effects of hybrid-mode versus quasi-static characterization are illustrated by microwave interdigital filter simulation and comparison to measured data.
