    The emerging smart grid system requires high speed communication Technology. Among all the proposed Technology, the powerline communication solution seems to be most appropriate. This paper presents the noise characteristic and transmits characteristic of the power line channel at first, then establish the basic power line channel model according to measured data, design a low-voltage power line communication system for the demand of smart meter reading, the speed can reach 700 kbps, it also providing the system parameter and the key algorithm.
