Abstract :
As a useful alternative fuel, vegetable oil is a kind of continuous renewed energy sources made from photosynthesis. In the paper, a performance comparison experiment of two kinds of fuel, alternative fuel made from waste vegetable oil and No.0 diesel oil, was conducted in the small type of diesel engine. Results showed that the alternative fuel is fit for the diesel engine. Compared with diesel oil, in the export power of the engine, the WVO is much at one (only reduced 2%), and fuel consumption increased 6%~12%, exhaust gas temperature decreased 20°C, CO2, CO, HC concentration emission reduced 10%~15%,10%~18%,47% respectively. The theory on searching for alternative fuel using in diesel engine was also provided.
