Abstract :
Technique of mosaicing 3D broken objects and 3D contour curves matching was researched. Representing method of contour curves using multiscale Fourier descriptors was analyzed. A 3D contour curves matching method for recovering 3D broken objects based on multiscale Fourier descriptors was presented. Contour curves were filtered by Gaussian function at different scale. The feature vectors of contour curves were represented by Fourier transform coefficients. Contour curves were segmented into curve subsegment by local maximum of product of curvature and torsion. The similarity between two contour curves was determined by comparing feature vectors of two contour curve subsegments, and contour curves matching and fragments mosaicing were realized for recovering broken objects. Experimental results showed that this approach was robust, fault tolerant and effective in 3D curves matching and fragmented objects mosaicing.
