Abstract :
A compact broadband high-power limiter is proposed in this paper. The limiter has a two stages structure which composed of different PIN diodes. A broadband LC impedance transformation network is employed in limiter to replace traditional quarter-wavelength line. This limiter has smaller size and higher isolation compared with traditional one in low frequency. To verify proposed structure, a limiter is fabricated and measured. At small signal level, insertion loss of proposed limiter is less than 0.6 dB measured from 200 MHz~800 MHz. At large signal level, isolation is 29 dB for a 700 MHz 15 W input power, which is 3 dB higher than the traditional limiter.
