Abstract :
An experimental and simulation procedure is used to validate theoretical closed form equation predictions for the sensitivity of a GaAs MESFET Active Antenna operated as a self oscillating detector. The physical mechanisms within the active device and microstrip embedding circuitry that govern the detection characteristics of the active antenna are elaborated. Experimental and computer simulated results are presented and found to be in good agreement with theoretical prediction.
