Abstract :
Ant colony optimization (ACO) is a novel metaheuristic method, which has recently been applied to scheduling problems in semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing. We proposed an ACO algorithm for the machine conversion frequency reduction to optimize the conversion plan and minimize the machine idle time. We verified the algorithm using the historical data of Intel´s chipset factory, which shows more than 20% saving in SCAM capacity
