Abstract :
The authors show that one can shape an array element pattern suitable for a wide-scanning phased array antenna by providing a parasitic element in front of the stripline dipole. The length of the parasitic element should be about 20% shorter than that from which the maximum gain of the single element is obtained. It is expected that one can fabricate a millimeter wave active phased array antenna with a wide scanning range easily by this technology.
