Abstract :
Gold nanorods(AuNRs) excited at 800 nm produced strong two-photon luminescence (TPL) intensities anisotropy, which correlate with their three-dimensional spatial orientations. Here we report a novel orientation sensor by defocused imaging(DI) of single AuNR through an ordinary wide-field optical microscope. It opens up exciting possibilities for using DI in the near IR region for biological imaging.
