Abstract :
The implementation of cleaner production in coal-fired power plants is necessary for environmental protection and also an effective way of emission reduction. To measure and improve the performance of cleaner production is the essence and basic requirements of cleaner production. In this paper, on the basis of super-efficiency data envelopment analysis (SE-DEA) method, the input-output index system and an evaluation model for assessing and improving the cleaner production performance (CPP) of coal-fired power plants are constructed. An empirical analysis of the model is carried out with a set of survey data. The result shows that the CPP assessment and improvement based on the SE-DEA model can be used not only to achieve the continuous improvement, but also to set up a cleaner production benchmark. In addition, this method can measure the effect of cleaner production actions for coal-fired power plants.
