The world pays more attention to biomass (straw) power generation due to its good power quality, friendly environment and less pollution. The paper analyzed the characteristic of the three categories biomass power generation, further more the comparative analysis of its economic and application scope were carried out. It shows that the economics of biomass co-combustion power generation technology was the best one, direct-fired power generation technology has a high efficiency and the unit investment and it is more reasonable when it is in scale operation; gasification power generation technology has the virtue of less investment, low generation cost and good flexibility; the investment cost of co-combustion power generation technology is less, this system has a higher efficiency.
