Abstract
This paper presents a precipitation retrieval algorithm for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR) on the ADEOS-II satellite. This algorithm was developed based on results of radiative transfer model simulations. It uses a combination of microwave emission and scattering signatures, and has a correction for beam-filling. Besides a general description of the algorithm, we show some validation results in this paper
