Increasing energy demand and high reliance on coal in China, is a challenge to the global energy market and environment. This paper based on a brief introduction about China power industry development recently, give analysis about the back up technology-CCS in China, including international cooperation projects and activities of CCS in China, domestic demonstration project, cost estimation of CCS, challenging and possible solutions for CCS in China. Finally some suggestions were given on how to promote CCS in China.
