Abstract
We have the science and technology. There are new skills to learn - Global sourcing - Global manufacturing networks for small to medium volume high technology products - Global systems and logistics - Environmental impacts and transportation - Quality specification and control - Global design and development processes ?? We have the opportunity with our international and flexible outlook to lead the world in this area ?? Supply chain competencies could be the leading edge in global competitiveness ?? But.... We cannot be complacent! SAP is German, I2 is American as are some of the leading logistics systems suppliers ?? We need to recognise the opportunities and issues and take and maintain the lead ?? I look forward to some great examples later in the conference
