Abstract :
In this paper a novel approach is presented that provides for a significant increase in the number of users in multi-user direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems. This technique is based on division of the DSSS channel into a number of overlapping equal bandwidth sub-channels. It is shown that this division yields an increase in the number of users by 41% when the number of sub-channels is 11. The analysis is confirmed by means of a computer simulation.
