Abstract :
This paper proposes a new approach for mixers optimization. Using statistical techniques, general design rules concerning the mixing frequencies terminations have been defined for the cold FET mixers allowing to obtain low and reliable conversion loss. Applying these rules, an experimental mixer, giving 4 dB intrinsic conversion loss at 7.5 GHz LO frequency and 10 MHz IF frequency, has been developed.
