Abstract :
The transfer impedance of cables is a parameter that can be used to compare the quality of cables. It is intended to determine if this parameter can also be used as a tool to calculate the differential mode voltages in a cable longer than a wavelength developed by common mode currents which are a result of electromagnetic radiation of disturbance sources. A plan is presented in which the steps are defined that are undertaken to obtain this result. The measurement setup that is used to measure the transfer impedance of mains network cables is described. This setup is tested and validated and the results of the first measurements are presented.
